AlSharif Group Holding has begun operating on the project to renovate the historic Shepheard Hotel in collaboration with the Egyptian General Tourism and Hotel Company (EGOTH).

Based on the partnership announced by ASG in 2020, the Group will provide and operate the resources necessary to restore the hotel to its golden ages; from the design of the latest architecture and obtaining the necessary engineering consulting, to the development of the business strategic plan, finishing with the interior decoration and furniture inspired by the hotel's historical status. The expected opening of the hotel with its new suit will be by the end of 2023.

The development project is worth over 337 million SAR on an area of 3198 square meters of land, with a hotel capacity of more than 300 rooms and luxury suites, at least 5 food and beverage outlets, 1600 square meters of a conference room, health and fitness resorts, multi-purpose rooms, and parking for 70 vehicles.

Samuel Shepherd established the hotel in 1841, after which it was restored following the famous Cairo fire of 1952, and is now ranked among the most historic hotels at the regional level; In this context, the Group's Executive Director, Mr. Nawaf Bin Faiz AlSharif, stated: “In ASG, we believe in the future of the tourist sector in the region.” “With a vision for the future, and in a spirit of pride in the preservation of the Arab legacy, we are proud to take over the development project of this historic edifice on the soil of Egypt's culture, as we are now finalizing the launch of the project”.
